Founded as Millwall Rovers in 1885, The Lions have seen the club go from strength to strength and Millwall Football Club are now a staple of English football, with their rampant lion remaining synonymous in England and beyond.

After moving from the Isle of Dogs in 1910, Millwall played at The Old Den in New Cross from 1910 until 1993 when The Lions found their new home, The Den.

There have been many highs and lows for a club which has been a staple of English Football since entering the system in 1920. With an extremely loyal following the club have seen a spell in England’s top division, FA cup finals and played in Europe.

Millwall FC have gone from strength to strength and The Den is a facility which has provided over 15 years of great footballing entertainment.

The Energy Check came on board as a sponsor to ensure a continued bright future on the pitch as well as off it.

After initial meetings with our energy saving experts, we renegotiated Millwall’s energy contracts ensuring competitive utility rates were secured for the future. A detailed site audit from one of highly qualified engineers followed and although since ‘The New Den’ was erected in 1993, Millwall FC have developed and moved with the times, The Energy Check engineers audit provided invaluable advice.

As you would expect, our engineers work to exacting standards. The energy efficiency project plan they produced showed significant consumption savings, with us highlighting great potential for better monitoring and potentially solar panels!

As well as being good for the environment, the plan put forward by The Energy Check projects huge savings for the club, with a finance model which will see positive income for cash flow from Quarter 1, Year 1. We hope that this, along with our sponsorship can see The Lions back into the top of English Football. Once again, The Energy Check prove it is possible to become greener without it costing the earth!
