Oxford Playhouse opened its doors in 1938, the last theatre to be built before the outbreak of World War 2.
Over its history, the Playhouse has been refurbished several times, most recently in 2016 when a partial LED lighting system and secondary glazing was installed to improve energy efficiency.
During his site visit, The Energy Check’s consultant found room for more efficiency savings. Although a listed building will always be subject to the limitations of its original design, The EnergCheck have proposed a package of efficiency measures sensitive to the building’s fabric and aesthetic:
The proposed efficiency measures show positive cashflow in Q1 and full payback in 2 years. We are now seeking funding to implement these changes.
